Coach Ann is a mom to two toddlers: a 3 year old boy and a 2 year old girl. In addition to chasing them, Ann has been running competitively for almost 22 years. After running for Mountain Brook Junior High and High School, she competed for Clemson University’s Cross-Country team. She has qualified for and run both the Boston Marathon and the New York Marathon, and holds a marathon PR of 2:58. Her current half-marathon PR is 1:24, and she is actively training to better both.

During the summers, Coach Ann competes in trail races and recently won both the Lake Martin 50 Mile Endurance Trail Race and the Race for Kids 50k Trail Race. She set new course records for the Memorial Day Trail Race, Run for Kids 50k and Tranquility Trail Run. Lindsay Henkels is a full-time clinical manager at United Health Group, wife and mother of two children. She has been running since high school and competed in Track/Cross Country at the University of MN. After setting PRs of 2:50 in the marathon and 1:19 in the half marathon, she wanted a different challenge. She transitioned to trail running and ultras by winning the Zumbro 50 mile in 2016. Kelly Huduk: I transplanted to Kailua Kona, Hawaii from Ohio 10 years ago and immediately fell in love with the active culture on the Island. This is the home of the Ironman World Championships and so the community is steeped in swimming, biking and running. I'm a member of the Hawaii Cycling Club, take part in many of the local running races and have participated in several Olympic distance triathlons. Hey y’all! My name is Matt Johnson. I am an ultra/trail runner living and training in Georgia with my beautiful wife and two dogs!  I grew up playing multiple sports but developed a special passion for running while I was in high school. Shortly after the conclusion of my collegiate cross country and track career, I made the move to the trails and haven’t looked back since! While I primarily consider myself a trail runner, I still enjoy racing on the roads from time to time. I love the running community and want to take advantage of every opportunity to give back to it.   I am passionate about living an active and healthy lifestyle and want to share that same passion with everyone I come in contact with. I am a true adventurer at heart and consider the mountains my home away from home. Josie loves adventuring in the outdoors, laughing with good friends and moving quickly over large expanses of rock. In over 2 decades of climbing, she has dabbled in everything from remote, alpine first ascents to international competition climbing to setting bigwall speed records. She is most drawn to long, demanding adventures - objectives that push her both physically and mentally. From these experiences she has developed the capacity to remain present and calm in the most challenging situations - a mentality that has served her far beyond climbing.

When she isn't climbing, Josie's mindset has been instrumental as a member of the Yosemite Search & Rescue team, a wilderness medicine and rescue instructor, a yoga teacher and as a climbing coach. One of her goals as an instructor and climber is to inspire others and empower them with the tools to overcome their own personal challenges.

Jessica Dorsey left her home state of Wisconsin to follow her college sweetheart and the warmer weather to Los Angeles, CA, where she currently resides with her now husband, two daughters (almost 2 and 6), and their pitbull, Penny Pickle.

Though running is her top passion, she is a general fitness nut who loves climbing and obstacles, too. She built a 12 foot rainbow colored salmon ladder in the backyard.. which got her in a little trouble with the neighbors.

Hello! My name is Heather Carpenter and I found my passion for running 6 years ago. I was never a fan of running but a friend encouraged me to join a local run group to do a 5K program. After I completed that program, I was hooked and my love of running never stopped. Since then I have ran 7 half and 4 full marathons. Some of my favorite memories are running my dream race, the NYC marathon, and also having the y to guide a visually impaired man for the The Flying Pig. What an amazing experience to be the eyes of a fellow runner running his first half. After guiding my friend, I decided it was time to be a pace group coach for my local run group, Queen City Running Club. It has been a blessing to coach new and seasoned runners to obtain their running goals!

Juan is a licensed pharmacist and full-time PhD student at the University of Florida. In his free time, Juan is training for ultramarathons and he hopes to finish his first 100-mile race in 2018. Hi my name is Blake Landry. I come from a professional soccer background. Being a goalie I never enjoyed to run; but I had hard work ethic and determination. After I retired due to injuries, I took up being a soccer referee. Moving up I had to take fitness tests, which forced me to run longer than I was used to. Before I knew it I was up to 8-9 mile for a long run. I signed up for my first running race; a local half marathon. I fell in love with the sport of competitive running at the starting line. Ever since I have been doing triathlons, Ironman, ultra marathons, and trying to get to the Boston marathon. On my 9th marathon last year I finally qualified for Boston. But, as some of you may know, the cutoff was the largest ever in history. I missed out by 55 seconds. Fuel to the fire! I am training for my 10th marathon and hopefully a sub 3 marathon this Memorial day at the Buffalo Marathon. I wouldn't be able to accomplish these goals weren't it for Huma being my main source of fuel during these events. Thank you Huma for supporting me and allowing my body to stay fueled up!

Melissa T is a New York City native, who grew up in Latin America and Europe prior to returning to New York as a teen.   She studied at Hunter College and Columbia University and is currently seeking her Sexual Health certificate at the University of Michigan. Tyler Green is a competitive mountain-ultra-trail runner who started running Portland Parks and Rec cross country races in second grade. He has been in love with the sport ever since. His high school coach told him, “We just don’t have a race long enough for you,” and that wisdom eventually led him to ultra-marathons. JONATHANLEO FIELDS
Runner -- Escondido, California

Born in Manila, Philippines and raised in San Diego, California, trail runner Jonathanleo Fields now resides in the Valleys of Escondido, Ca where he trains for some of the Technical trail races around Southern California. Living in the Heart of Escondido city, Jonathanleo works as a Software Tester at Miva, Inc. in Rancho Bernardo, Ca. Situated at 650 feet about sea level, the city of Escondido gives Jonathanleo easy access to trails that reach as high as 3,000 feet. In 2016, he broke into the Ultra running scene, after a disappointed bonk in his first Ultra scene at the San Diego 50 mile, but learning from his mistakes, he comes back with a surprise 2nd place Overall at the Sycamore Canyon 50K, after having gained entry to the race only several weeks before. His win was extra surprising given that he had done much of his training while living and working as a Tester at Hewlett-Packard in San Diego. Since then, he has achieved a multitude of Podium finishes from a back-2-back-back Top 3 finishes in a 1 month time span, as well as wins at the 2017 Dirty December Poker Half, the 2018 Sycamore Canyon 50K, and the 2018 Pirate's Cove 6hr. In addition to racing ultras, Jonathanleo also enjoys shorter distance Trail races, backpacking, and Weight Lifting. And we mustn’t forget eating! Weather it’s gels and gummy bears on the trail or a hearty dinner after a long day of training, Jonathanleo loves to eat!

Hi! My name is Carla Williams. I grew up in New England and went to college at Dartmouth in New Hampshire. I have since migrated down the east coast, living in Baltimore for med school and then Chapel Hill for residency. I recently moved to Roanoke, VA where I work as a physician in the Emergency Department at Carilion Clinic Hospital. I grew up playing soccer and then switched to rowing crew in college. After college, I started to really enjoy endurance sports. I started with marathons and trail running and then did a few half and full ironman triathlons before finding mountain biking. I really like being out in the woods on my bike, exploring new places and working on my technical skills. Roanoke has endless supply of mountains, gravel roads, and backcountry trails to explore in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I mainly compete in endurance mountain bike races during the spring and summer and cyclocross races in the fall and winter. When I'm not on the bike, I enjoy hiking with my husband and our 2 dogs, eating tacos and doing yoga.

Allison O'Rourke is a mother to 2 great kids, works full time doing research on behavioral interventions to prevent HIV, and loves to run, travel and enjoy a good glass of wine. She has been running for 18 years which she took up in her 20's after finishing college. Running is often times the only time of the day where she can be alone with her thoughts or catch up with friends. In 2018, her first race of the year, she ran an almost 18 minute marathon PR at Rock and Roll DC and her first ever Boston qualifying time (3:38:03). Who says things don't get better with age???

Hi, my name is Kari Hutson. I am an endurance mountain biker living in Columbus Ohio with my dog and my husband. I race cyclocross in the fall and dabble in trail running, and rock climbing in my spare time, but most of my time is devoted to training for 24 hour mountain bike races and other endurance mountain bike races. Huma carried me through my first 24 hour race and saves me when I'm bonking. It's my favorite tasty rocket fuel. I currently live in Houston, Texas and am an operations manager for an oil / gas service company, husband, and father of three amazing children. Blake was not a natural when it came to endurance athletics. After a childhood playing baseball and golf, he picked up the sport in college and turned what was a very big challenge into a passion and eventually into a career.

Rachel Wells

I am a life-long midwest girl who works as a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist. In addition to working full time as an SLP, I am currently working on my doctorate degree in Special Education - working with children with special needs is one of the things that gets me up in the morning. I will be running the Boston Marathon for the first time this year (2018) - after qualifying on my son’s first birthday in April of 2017. Most of my training (and a lot of my racing) is done with my sweet little guy, Gabe, in our trusty jogging stroller. My husband, Clint, is also a runner and a coach - so running is definitely a family affair. I am passionate about showing other mamas that we CAN be fit and fast after having children - and that involving our children in the process can be a lot of fun.

In addition to running, I love creating new healthy (and tasty!), mostly paleo-inspired dishes in the kitchen and spending time exploring the great outdoors with my guys or lounging inside on our couch with our two kitties and some Netflix. I have Celiac disease and a sensitive GI system and Huma has been an absolute life-saver! The real-food ingredients are gentle on my stomach and provide an effective (and super delicious!) energy source. “Back in the day” pre-baby I completed three half-Iron distance triathlons in addition to a full-Iron distance tri (Ironman Wisconsin/2013). Currently, though, I am more than content to be “just” a runner and am looking to see just how fast I can get with Gabe (literally) along for the ride. I have my sights set on one day competing an ultra-distance race (following in my husband’s footsteps) but I haven’t yet pulled the trigger on registering. Maybe this will be the year! Come what may, I am determined to have fun with this running thing while involving my family and as many friends as I can! Of course, I am honored to be a #Humabeing and to use Huma to fuel my adventures as I chase down my running dreams.

I spend a lot of my time traveling all over Northern California as a Tech Rep for the running footwear brand Saucony. When I’m not living the dream representing the best footwear brand in the land, I can be found running or working on my latest DIY project.

My love for running didn’t start until college, when I started just as a way to stay active and stress-free. Since then I’ve run many races, but I have a sweet spot for the half and full marathon distances.

Elissa Driver is a 3rd generation Arizona native that just loves the outdoors and all the great state has to offer. Her number one passion is skiing since she has done it since she was three; she even spent a couple years in college in Northern Arizona teaching others how to love the sport. Elissa considers herself to be primarily a triathlete, but it hasn’t always been that way. Like so many others, she started out with a love for running but craved something more. If you find her in the pool, that means a race is coming up and if she is on the trails running or mountain biking, she is taking a break from the sport. Elissa has four Ironman finishes, numerous 70.3’s, 3 open marathons, a 50 mile Ultra and even some bike events on her race resume. The one thing they all have in common is that Huma (specifically Strawberry Lemonade flavor) played a big part in her success.

My name is Paige Zizka and I am a 16 year old amateur cyclist for Northwest Cycling Club in Houston, Texas. I have won multiple sliver medals at the National Championship for track cycling and have accumulated over 13 state champion titles. I have been racing for 8 years in track, road, mountain, and cyclocross and hope to go for as long as I can. I am mostly an endurance racer who specializes in team and individual pursuit as well as mass start races. I hope to make it to Junior Worlds in the next coming years and possibly the Olympic team later on. Thanks so much to Hüma Gel for always supporting me and keeping me going!

Kathryn Holk

James is a runner. He didn't know it until a few years ago, but running is one of his most natural outward expressions of joy, and it is as much intense as it is carefree. He was born and raised in Oregon's small cascade mountain town, Oakridge, and now resides in the city, but always finds that respite remains in the high country. Mountaineering and alpinism pursuits were initial vehicles for escaping the hustle and bustle, but today running offers James the opportunity to experience the pacific northwest's wilderness landscapes to their fullest despite maintaining a busy schedule. A photographer, filmmaker by trade, he and his wife, Kathryn live in Portland, Oregon.

"Growing up in Montana, Desiree always had an appreciation for the outdoors. In 2009, she began running to support her brother in his effort to lead a healthier lifestyle. Since then, she has discovered her love for endurance and mountain running, having completed more than 50 races of marathon distance or longer, including both the Badwater 135 and Fat Dog 120.

Professionally, Desiree works full-time as a litigation paralegal and trial consultant for a national law firm. When she's not exploring mountain trails or working in the courtroom, Desiree spends her time practicing yoga and exploring vegan cooking, led by her love for running and desire to both live a balanced life and be a stronger, more well-rounded athlete."

Hello all! My name is Adam and I love running any distances form 5K to 50K. I live in Georgia with my wife and two dogs, and regularly train with fellow Huma-Being Matt Johnson. I grew up playing multiple sports and was introduced to running in 8th grade. I ran in high school and college at Augusta University. I now focus on just getting outside and having fun! I love venturing to the mountains and traveling to new places. In the last year I've grown an interest for ultra running and triathlons, and am pursuing both for the 2018 year. I am also an ambassador for Balega socks, Janji running apparel, and Skratch Labs. Outside of training I am a math teacher and an assistant cross country coach.

I started using Huma gels when I started training for half marathons and then for my first ultra marathon. I love the multiple flavors of Huma and its real food ingredients. Jen Wagner is a devoted runner, who is also passionate about yoga and strength training. A runner for most of her life since high school, it’s within the past 3-4 years that Jen has become more serious about training and committing herself to push the limits a bit more with her running, hiring a coach and training more rigorously.

 Jen’s favorite distance is the half marathon, but she has also run shorter distances and one full marathon, the Philadelphia Marathon, in the fall of 2015. She hopes to train for her next full marathon within the next year. Of course, Huma gels will be an integral part of Jen’s training, as always!

Traveling for races is also one of Jen’s favorite aspects of running—her favorite destination and race being the Key West half-marathon, which she has run for the past 4 years. It’s a bit of an addiction!

Barefoot Jimmy Bio

Smoking, drinking, skateboarding, partying and not running was my life till about 6 years ago. At that time, I got sober and started running with all the newly found free-time & lungs. I got hooked to the running/fitness community and have never stopped running. After completing 5 marathons with shoes, I switched to sandals/barefoot running. Current total is 7 fulls, 3 ultras and a slew of other races. I am an organizer for the Vancouver, WA run group called Run, Grub, Chug and a Pacer for Beast Pacing. If you see me out, I'll always have a spare Hüma to share in my car incase you need one! Beyond that, you won't find me on social media because i'll be in the gardens with my fiancé!!

Hello! I’m Miriam Weiskind and live in Brooklyn, New York. I have been running for most of my life and fell in love with ultra trail running 4 years ago. After transitioning from Ironman triathlons to ultra running, I fell in love with the trail in life I feel destined to be on. While living in a concrete jungle, I climb up mountains strong like a bull and gallop down, fearlessly like a goat! My favorite distance is the 50 mile and stage racing… because the longer I can stay on the trails, the happier I get. I will be tackling the Alps during the stage race TransAlpines and racing with the North Face Endurance Challenge series in a few cities all summer long!

When I’m not traversing trails, I am a proud mom to my pup Frankie Jo Buttons but also a creative director and professional pizza enthusiast. Fun Pizza Fact: Nutella pizza with strawberry Huma gel drizzled on top is perfect fuel for long runs!

Matt Cheney

Matt began running when he was around seven years old. After school soccer games, he would go to the track and run 400m repeats while his Dad timed. His inner fire for the sport as well as his parents' unwavering support were, and still are the building blocks of his success. Matt and his Dad trained together most days, running 3 miles like clockwork. Many childhood Saturdays were spent at various road races around the greater-Beaver Falls, NY area competing for age group medals. Though the surface changed from road to trail a few years later when he started racing for Beaver River Central School, his passion for the sport did not.

Fast forward to high school cross country. Beaver River won back-to-back State titles his freshman and sophomore years. Then, he went on to win an Individual State title as a senior. There is nothing quite like high school cross country. His love of trail running and the trail running community most certainly stem from the early days of racing and teammate comradery. His career continued through college where he was a two-time All-American in the 5k, running a PR of 14:55. After college, Matt continued racing. He also started a coaching business called TerraMotus Endurance Coaching. He coaches individuals looking to race anywhere from 1 mile to 100 miles.

My name is Rich Dell'Isola, a passionate runner and Huma enthusiast. When I relocated from New York to Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 5 years ago, I joined the Pine Bluff Running Club and was introduced to the life changing motto, "Sure you can!" The Club became family, and provided the encouragement I needed to go from dreading one mile to running full marathons. Most of my running has taken place on the road, but I am transitioning to trail racing and will be running my first 50 mile race (the Hawk Hundred in Lawrence, Kansas) in September. Huma is my fuel for all training and racing; I love that it is all natural, chia based, tasty, and easily digested. 

When I'm not training or racing, I'm most likely spending time with my amazing wife or seeing clients; I am finishing up a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, and will begin working on a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy in August 2018.
